Please contact the Louisiana Division/City Archives & Special collections by phone at 504-596-2610 or email at archivist@nolalibrary.org for questions or to request research assistance.

Staff will be available from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

All New Orleans Public Library locations including the Louisiana Division/City Archives & Special Collections are closed to the public at this time.

Research

Due to the current COVID-19 crisis and our current library closure, we are happy to offer some extended reference services to our patrons.

The Louisiana Division/City Archives & Special Collections is not open to researchers at this time and we will not be able to accept appointments for future dates. Please check our website for additional information on openings.

At this time please email archivist@nolalibrary.org or call 504-596-2610 for research assistance. If you would still prefer to mail in requests, you may do so.

Requests will be reviewed and responded to from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday. Please be patient as response times may be longer than expected.

Circulation

At this time all materials remain non-circulatng. Materials are not available for Interlibrary Loan, including microfilm in our Early Records Collection.

Please call or email if you have questions about the books or microfilm in our collection.

Reproduction

Due to the current COVID-19 crisis and our current library closure, we are happy to offer some extended duplication services for patrons. Duplication services beyond those typically offered under our search and copy services, will be determined on a case by case basis.

Building Plans can be sent offsite to a duplications company. Please email archivist@nolalibrary.org for more information.

Digital Resources

Resources available for free on the internet or with your New Orleans Public Library Card. This will assist you with your research until you can visit us again. Please email or call with any questions.
