We're not sure when this photograph was taken or where these trash cans were located in the city, but we like them a lot! We do know that the photographer was J. (James) W. Guillot. He worked for local newspapers from 1938 until his retirement in 1981 (he died in 1989), but we suspect that this image was captured sometime in the 1950s or 1960s. Perhaps the cans were placed in or around a school or playground in order to encourage children to do their part to keep the city clean.
