60 6/15/1781 Governor Galvez: Royal Ensign: De Reggio, Sr. – At this time a letter is presented to the Cabildo by Don Martin Navarro, Intendant of the Province, addressed to him by Don Joseph de Galvez, expressing the sympathy of the King in the disaster caused by the hurricane of August 14, 1780, and offering all possible assistance.

60 7/13/1781 Governor Galvez: Royal Ensign: De Reggio, Sr. – At this time the Royal Ensign presents an official document sent to him by the Governor in which the King orders the Governor to offer in His Majesty’s name all assistance that may be given under the circumstances. This document was read at a meeting of the principal land owners who were permitted to draft a petition to the King covering appropriate means to comply with the said instructions. – (In this document, the date of the hurricane is given as August 24th, 1780 – page 63.)

Hurricanes 3 III 180 12/19/1794 Governor Carondelet; Royal Ensign: Almonaster – In the recommendations of the Attorney General asking the Cabildo to petition the King for a loan of 1,000,000 Pesos to be loaned to the owners of houses which were burned by the last fire so that they might rebuild with brick, he mentions the many calamities endured since 1779, including “five hurricanes, many floods and two great fires.”
