Health Rules - Establishing a Board 4 III 59 8/23/1799 Acting Govenor: Vidal; Royal Ensign: De La Ronde – At this time the Governor informs the Cabildo that he has established a service for the sanitary inspection of ships. The Commandant of the Army, one or two Commissioners and the Attorney General to be present at such inspections.

Health Rules - Establishing a Board 4 IV 176 2/19/1802 Governor: Salcedo: Royal Ensign: De La Ronde – At this meeting, called to discuss the necessity of vaccination (See “Vaccination”) the Commissioners resolve to petition the Governor to re-establish the Board of Health as officially established by Acting Governor Vidal, it being noted, that for some time past this Board did not exist. (At the next meeting, page 178, the Governor replies that he has resolved to establish a permanent Board of Health.)
