Canals 3 I 49 4/22/1785 Acting Governor: Miro; Royal Ensign: De Reggio, Sr. - At this meeting Almonaster announced that he had constructed a hospital for lepers, bounded on one side by a canal which he had also constructed for sick people to bathe in. ( See "Hospitals, Lepers.")

Canals 4 I 59 11/6/1795 Governor: Carondelet; Royal Ensign: Almonaster - At this meeting the Commissioners discussed the benefits to be derived from the canal the Governor has had opened from the city to Bayou St. John, and decided to have a draw bridge erected to permit schooners to reach the city through this canal. (See "Bayous").
