Received from Don Juan de Castanedo, Commissioner and Treasurer of the Most Illustrious Cabildo of the City of New Orleans, One Hundred Pesos, my yearly salary which I have earned from January 1st. up to this day, both inclusive, assigned to me as Commissioner and Royal Ensign of New Orleans, from the funds of the City Treasury, and as an evidence I issue the present receipt, signed by my own hand, in the City of New Orleans, December 31st., 1797.
