NO. 15 - Francisco Marre, Master Blacksmith, to your Lordships respectfully states: that by orders from the gentleman Commissioner Don Juan de Castanedo, he has made eight iron-spears or lances for the use and to arm the Night Policemen, in the service of this City, the price of which was agreed to be four pesos each, which he finished and delivered to the Corporal of Police, with the knowledge of said gentleman Commissioner, and he requests your Lordships to please order the City Treasurer to pay from the special funds of the Lighting Department, the sum of Thirty-Two Pesos, amount of this bill, for which he thanks your Lordships. - New Orleans, June 6th., 1800.

The Commissioner appointed by your Lordships to inspect the work mentioned in the above document to your Lordships states: that the lances were made and are now being used by the Corporal and night policemen while on duty. - New Orleans, June 6th., 1800.

I certify and give faith that in the session of the Cabildo held this day, it was resolved that the gentleman Commissioner and City Treasurer pay, from the special funds of the Lighting Department, to Francisco Marre, Master Blacksmith, Thirty-Two Pesos, the value of 8 lances referred to in the preceding document. - In the City of New Orleans, June 6th., 1800.

Received from the gentleman Commissioner and City Treasurer, Don Juan de Castanedo, Thirty-Two Pesos, the value of 8 lances which I made for the use and protection of the two Corporals and night policeman employed in the service of the Lighting Department, which sum was ordered paid by resolution in today's session of the Cabildo, at the rate of four pesos each lance, as evidenced by the preceding certificate signed by the Secretary of the Cabildo, therefore, I issue this receipt in the City of New Orleans, June 6th., 1800.
