Dear John:

Even though your parcel storage units were not large enough for my big ole suitcase, I must admit that your Library building has the most beautiful exterior that I have ever had the privilege of seeing. In the heart of the City, yet it is set off as a part of a government plaza in a way that would be difficult to improve upon. Many congratulations.

I am glad that you received my little autographed book, for having seen your fine collection of books it immeditely gave me a means of saying thanks for the delightful evening that I spent in your home. I thought your collection needed one paper back.

I see I complimented your exterior above, but this was not to omit the interior. It is beautiful and I could find no fault with the interior planning. It was logical, functional, and beautiful. Most important, there was space to grow in. Your building must be about the size of Cincinnati and Denver, but I would definitely chose [sic] your building over Denver and I believe you have the edge over Cincinnati. It is a great achievement. Architects played a great part, I am sure, but my guess is that Jacobs was the real planner.

Sincerely,
